Public Affairs
TPPR’s public affairs activity is geared to support for non-Western members of the international community attempting to negotiate their way through the Western media and political system. We do not engage in direct lobbying but will guide strategies for messaging and delivery working alongside appropriate specialist advisers.
Diplomatic Support
Advisers to the President of a strategically significant state required communications support throughout an official visit to London. TPPR worked closely with the Embassy to ensure maximum co-operation with the Foreign Office's professional staff, that the British and overseas media had good access to his team and that decisions were taken with an improved understanding of British political and cultural conditions and priorities.
International Campaigning
The Ambassador in London of one of the UK's key strategic partners was chosen as the regional candidate to seek election to a major UN organisation. TPPR managed the Western communications aspects of his campaign, alongside regional specialists, and ensured that key campaign messages were communicated to the global community.
Private Office Support
The Office of the First Lady of a non-Western country requested assistance in drafting an appropriate speech for a major cultural occasion. TPPR undertook the copywriting task directly and continued to advise on non-contentious cultural matters. Work has periodically continued with this Office including management of the placement of a significant interview in a major UK newspaper.
Reform Support
A significant business figure made a commitment to regional reform and required media relations, analytical and copywriting support to translate his ideas from a regional to a Western context. TPPR ran his personal Press Office, drafting important public affairs material, advising on the impact of his political activities on his business and supporting him when one of his assets was targeted in a serious terrorist attack.
Conflict Resolution Suppport
An NGO engaged in conflict resolution in an African context required advice on media relations and political analysis of some of the actors in the peace process. TPPR provided this advice.
